Much as I would like to allow free use of my work by good causes or small causes, economic realities and the need to cover costs dictate that I generally need to charge a small fee for the use of my work.
The cartoons can only be used at these rates by charities, campaign groups or interest groups that have practically no budgets. Large charities or groups that employ staff and that want to use my cartoons in significant publications that have production budgets need to pay using the Public Printed Editorial Use, Non-commercial category, listed above.
So for instance a local birdwatching club can use my cartoons at these rates but a national or international wildlife organisation can't (although a small local branch can if money is short).
By campaign work I mean such activities as environmental campaigns or health campaigns. Campaigns linked to commercial concerns (such as health campaigns linked to the sale or promotion of diet products) are not included in this category. Campaign groups that promote hatred, violence or any other form of nastiness are barred.
This category includes use by organisations that are staffed by volunteers or unpaid staff, such as local social clubs, community groups or interest groups (such as astronomy groups, bird watching groups and such-like).

For personal use on personal blogs, on Facebook, etc (other than for students using my work as part of their studies) you need to pay a small fee to cover copyright, administration and overheads.
A small fee is also necessary if a cartoon is to be used in a printed newsletter, circular or similar.
Where the cartoon is a very significant part of the intended end product, such as a greetings card, mug or T-shirt a higher fee is necessary.
