If you want to use any of my cartoons in a publication, on a website or in a presentation (or for any other purpose) here's what you need to do.
To use any cartoon all you need to do is to pay a fee for the right to reproduce it (The cartoons can only be used free of charge for student use or for a very limited number of charitable uses). The amount that you have to pay to use a cartoon depends on the use to which it's going to be put. You'll find a list of uses and associated fees further down this page.
For printed use the fee depends on such factors as the type of publication involved (i.e. personal use, educational, advertising, etc), the number of copies printed and whether the image is on the cover or not.
For use on electronic media such as websites the fee depends on the nature of the use such as personal blogs or commercial sites.
For PowerPoint presentations the fee depends on such factors as the total anticipated audience Êand the nature of the presentation (i.e. educational, promotional, etc).
The prices are usually for the rights to use a cartoon once, such as in one publication. Purchasing the rights to use a cartoon unfortunately doesn't entitle you to use it indiscriminately for ever. If you want to use an image several times in different ways, you have to pay seperately for each use. Sorry.
To order a cartoon all you need to do is choose the appropriate category from the table below and click the Order button (If you're not sure which category your use fits into, please contact me).
This will open another page where you can enter the reference numbers (or brief descriptions) of the cartoons you want to use and choose how you would like to make your payment.
Once you've sent off the order form the cartoons and the payment instructions will be emailed to you shortly.
If in doubt about anything, such as if you're not sure which category your intended use fits into, please feel free to contact me
by clicking here.
Thanks.

Charities and Campaign Groups:
Much as I would like to allow free use of my work by good causes, economic realities and the need to cover costs dictate that I generally need to charge a small fee for its use.
The reason for this is that a major use of my work is by charities and campaign groups, so it's largely through the donation of these fees that I'm able to carry on producing work of the type that you want to use, for the purposes for which you want to use it.
The cartoons can only be used free of charge by campaign groups or by small charities (or branches of large charities) that have no budgets. Large charities that employ staff and that want to use my cartoons in significant publications that have production budgets need to pay using the Public Printed Editorial Use, Non-commercial category, listed above.
By campaign work I mean such activities as environmental campaigns or health campaigns. Campaigns linked to commercial concerns (such as health campaigns linked to the sale or promotion of diet products) are not included in this category. Campaign groups that promote hatred, violence or any form of nastiness are barred.
This category does not include interest groups such as local social clubs, community groups or leisure interest groups (such as astronomy groups, bird watching groups and such-like), which fall under the Personal Use category.
This category does not include non-profit organisations that do not rely to a large extent on voluntary participation (i.e. that are manned predominantly by paid staff) which generally fit into other non-commercial categories.
