The minimalist artist Carl Andre, who died on 24th January 2024, became famous for his work composed of arrangements of bricks and similar construction materials.
Andre became famous in Britain when the Tate Gallery purchased one of his minimalist grids of bricks titled Equivalent VIII. The bricks became known popularly as The Tate Bricks.Drawn: 25th January 2024
